BRADFORD BEACH 2012 SUMMER VOLLEYBALL - LEAGUE PREVIEW
Beach volleyball is back this summer at the all new Bradford Beach. And what is all new? Allot. Let’s start with our new partners from SURG Restaurant Group and their commitment to restore the beach house, new bathrooms, new concessions, three new tiki huts, external foot washes, new menu and much more. The experience at the beach will be enhanced for everyone.
What about the leagues? With the growth of the leagues in 2011, we learned allot. For all the success, there were growing pains. The first thing is that our service will improve with the addition of dedicated league officials onsite every league night. Second, court lines will be set-up and removed by the league officials each night. Third, league scheduling, scorekeeping and court assignments will be improved to insure we are providing a consistent weekly schedule that respects the time and effort of our players.
For summer 2012, we have expanded our league offerings, adjusted the season schedules and will insure that everyone will play a ton of volleyball. Here are the leagues, by season, by night.
Session 1: Summer League – June 3rd to August 30th, 6pm to Dusk
Sundays: Co-ed B 6’s
Mondays: Men’s A & B 4’s, Women’s A & B 4’s, Co-ed Open 2’s
Tuesdays: Co-ed C 6’s, Co-ed A 4’s, Men’s B 2’s
Wednesday: Co-ed BB 6’s, Men’s A 2’s, Women’s A & B 2’s
Thursdays: Co-ed A & BB 6’s, Men’s Open 2’s, Women’s Open 2’s
Playoffs will start the week of August 20th and completed by August 31st.
Session 2: Early Fall League – September 3rd to October 7th, 6pm to dusk
Sundays: Co-ed B 6’s
Mondays: Men’s A & B 4’s, Women’s A & B 4’s, Co-ed Open 2’s
Tuesdays: Co-ed C 6’s, Co-ed A 4’s, Men’s B 2’s
Wednesday: Co-ed BB 6’s, Men’s A 2’s, Women’s A & B 2’s
Thursdays: Co-ed A & BB 6’s, Men’s Open 2’s, Women’s Open 2’s
Playoffs will start the week of September 30th and completed by October 7th.
Registration fees vary by division and session.
RATING DEFINITION:
C Level – lowest / entry skill level of competition
B level – low skill level of competition
BB level – medium skill level of competition
A level - high level of competition
Open – highest to professional level of competition
HOW TO REGISTER:
Registration for all leagues opens April 1st and will close on May 25th. To register for all leagues, visit bradfordbeachjam.com/sports_leagues.html. 10% of all league fees are returned as a contribution to Milwaukee County Parks.
VOLLEY AMERICA MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENT:
For those teams competing in the 2’s and 4’s divisions, players will be required to be current members of Volley America. The cost is $15 and includes player insurance, sponsor prizes and national player ranking.
PRIZES:
All teams finishing 1st and 2nd in each league will receive prizes from Spalding and Bradford Beach. Prize information for the Men’s Open and Women’s Open 2’s leagues will be announced by May 1st.
