2010 Barefoot Wine AVPNext Championship Cup League Rules for Bradford Beach, Milwaukee, WI

LEAGUE OVERVIEW
• Open level 2-on-2 beach volleyball weeknight series for men’s and women’s doubles teams at Bradford Beach in Milwaukee, WI starting May 20th and completing July 22nd from 5:30pm to 8pm.
• All players must be current members of AVPNext.
• $2,000 in prize money per League ($1,000 per gender) will be distributed at the conclusion of league.
• All players receiving prize money must complete and submit W-9 form prior to payment.
• Teams finishing 1st in each gender earn automatic bid into the Barefoot Wine AVPNext Championship Cup at Oak Street Beach, Chicago, IL on August 27th.

Player Eligibility
• Players must be 21 years old on March 1, 2010
• Players ranked individually 1 - 48 on the AVP tour are not eligible (AVP rankings as of March 1, 2010)
• All players must be current members of AVPNext.

Competition
• League must have a minimum of 8 teams per gender
• All courts to conform to official AVP beach court guidelines (court dimensions, net height,
antennas, boundaries, etc.)
• Competition conclude with one men’s and women’s’ team champion that are committed to representing Bradford Beach in Barefoot Wine Championship Cup finals in Chicago on August 27th, 2010.
• Seeding in Championship Cup finals in Chicago will be determined by the AVP based on players’ AVP points and other factors.

League Format
• 2-on-2 beach doubles team format for men’s and women’s open doubles.
• League schedule will be determined by the total number of teams registered per gender.
• League matches will consist one match per league night (unless noted), best 2 of 3 match play format, rally scoring, games played to 21 points for games 1 and 2, and 15 points for game 3 (if necessary), no cap, all matches will be officiated by teams within league per assignment, no open hand serve receives, no touching the net, must use AVP Wilson gameball.
• Substitution policy.  A team may use a substitute.  The substitute can not be a player from within the current league roster of players.  All teams using a substitute will be tracked.  For example, if two teams are tied at the end of the season, and team A used 1 substitute throughout the league, and team B used three substitutes throughout the league, team A wins the tiebreaker.
• Team records will be tracked by (a) matches won/lost; (b) games won/lost; (c) winning percentage; (d) head-to-head competition.; (e) use of substitutes.
• Officiating:  All teams will be assigned officiating duties throughout the duration of league.  Both players are required to officiate match.  Both players officiating must be present at the start of match.
• Depending on the final league schedule, the league semi-finals and finals will take place on July 22nd.  Semi-final and final matches will be officiated.
